8/16/11- What a day!

Whew! What a day! First thing this morning I went to babysit the adorable little kids I'm watching this summer. I only have 1.5 days left with them before I start full time at Amanda Arnold. Today, from 1-4:30, I went in and helped my cooperating teacher in the classroom. I was so excited/nervous/overwhelmed! First we say down and kind of scheduled out what our semester would look like and then I went and made a TON of copies! I have now mastered the copier (hopefully) and also got some great resources for me to keep for my future teaching! :) I am excited to go back in tomorrow for a couple hours to do some more! (And she has such a cute classroom and some great ideas. I will take pictures and post them soon!) I sometimes help Rambler's catering and today I ended my day by catering a meal to the Kansas State University football players at the football complex!

Well Friday is when it all starts. I have to been at the school at 8:00 a.m. to begin this awesome/exciting/stressed filled semester. We have meetings all day on Friday, Monday, and then a teacher workday on Tuesday. Tuesday evening we will have a back-to-school night where I will finally get to meet all 21 students that I will be teaching this semester! Wednesday is the big day, the first day of school! It is only a half day so I'm hoping it goes smoothly and I don't get to overwhelmed.

This semester as I student teach and prepare for having my own classroom I hope to learn and grow from my cooperating teacher and also my students! Not only do I want to learn and grow from the students in our classroom and from my cooperating teacher but also from the other teachers in the building, the para's, my clinical instructor, and whoever else has something to offer a future teacher!

Well it has been a long day so I'm logging off for now!

Thanks for reading!
